Shenington SuperPrix 2026: Our Weekend Recap
Share
The Shenington SuperPrix is one of those weekends that always feels bigger than an ordinary club meeting. Held across 17–19 July 2026, it brought a full paddock, busy grids and a proper summer-racing atmosphere to Shenington Kart Racing Club.
The official entry list totalled 336 entries across the meeting. Andrew Platt joined the Senior X30 field with Tim Wilson Motorsport, racing a Birel ART in IC Kartstore colours.
A proper SuperPrix weekend
Shenington’s published weekend format opened with optional practice on Friday, followed by Saturday practice and a full Sunday race programme. That gives teams useful track time, but it also makes for a long, focused weekend where every session matters.
There was plenty happening before the racing even began: preparing the kart, checking the final details and finding a clear head in a very busy assembly area. Once the visor came down, the job was simple—make every lap count.
Into the racing
With a deep Senior X30 field, traffic and track position were part of every session. The racing was close, the margins were small and the pace stayed relentless. Andrew and the team kept working throughout the weekend, adapting to each session and keeping the Birel ART in the thick of the action.
Not every worthwhile race weekend is summed up by a single line on a results sheet. Shenington delivered valuable track time, hard racing and clear lessons to carry into the next outing. It was also a useful reminder of how quickly the level moves on when a strong national field comes together.
Behind the visor
Race weekends are always a team effort. Our thanks go to everyone at Tim Wilson Motorsport for their work throughout the weekend, and to the organisers, officials, marshals and volunteers who kept such a large meeting moving.
Thanks, Shenington
The SuperPrix remains a standout date in the British karting calendar: big grids, close competition and a paddock full of people who care deeply about the sport. We were proud to see the IC Kartstore colours out there and we are already looking forward to the next race weekend.
