Product details

Product information

Whether you are replacing a bent axle or adding another stiffness to the spares package, this Precision 50mm rear kart axle gives you separate 1030mm options for OTK and Kart Republic chassis. Choose the chassis fitment first, then Soft, Medium, Medium-Hard or Hard.

Both versions are 50mm × 1030mm, but that does not make them interchangeable. Match the axle to the chassis family, the original axle and its drilling and keyway layout before fitting.

Key details

  • Brand: Precision
  • Component: rear kart axle
  • Diameter: 50mm
  • Length: 1030mm
  • Fitment options: OTK 1030mm or Kart Republic (KR) 1030mm
  • Stiffness options: Soft, Medium, Medium-Hard or Hard
  • Quantity: one axle in the selected fitment and stiffness

Choose OTK or Kart Republic fitment

Select OTK 1030mm for the OTK application and KR 1030mm for the Kart Republic application. Precision does not publish a model-by-model or dimensioned comparison on this product page, so do not order on diameter and length alone and do not use the black or silver finish as a fitment guide.

If there is any doubt, check the chassis parts book and compare the removed axle's overall length, drilling and keyway positions. You can also ask IC Kartstore for fitment help; send the chassis make, model and year, plus a clear photo of the existing axle ends and markings.

Stiffness guide

Precision lists these four options as a starting guide. The grade references below are the supplier's own OTK and KR comparisons for this axle:

  • Soft — OTK E / KR S1: aimed at low-grip, cool, fresh or green-track conditions where you are looking to help the rear generate bite.
  • Medium — OTK N / KR M: the balanced baseline for general running and mixed conditions.
  • Medium-Hard — OTK A / KR H: a step up for a warmer track or higher grip when you want more rear support without going straight to the hardest option.
  • Hard — OTK H / KR HH: the stiffest of these four choices, listed for very high grip, hot conditions and a heavily rubbered-in circuit.

Use that as a starting point, not a guaranteed setup rule. Chassis design, tyre, pressure, rear track width, axle height, circuit, temperature and driver preference all affect the result. Change one thing at a time and judge it against the stopwatch and tyre condition.

What is included?

The listing is for one Precision axle in the selected fitment and stiffness. Keys, bearings, hubs, sprocket carrier and brake-disc carrier are not stated as included, so plan to reuse serviceable parts or order replacements separately unless IC Kartstore confirms otherwise.

If the rear end is already apart, it is a sensible time to clean and inspect the hardware. See the Precision Axle Cleaning Tool and the Precision sprocket carrier, checking axle size and keyway fitment before ordering.

When to inspect or replace an axle

  • After a heavy kerb strike, contact or rear-end impact.
  • If there is visible bow or measurable run-out.
  • If vibration appears or the chain line and brake-disc alignment keep moving.
  • If keyways, bearing seats or hub locations are cracked, distorted or heavily scored.
  • If correctly sized hubs, bearings or carriers no longer slide on and seat properly.

An axle with visible damage or run-out should be replaced rather than forced straight and put back into race use.

Workshop tip

Before pulling the old axle, photograph the assembly and measure the hub, bearing, sprocket and brake-disc carrier positions from each end. Lay the keys and spacers out in removal order, then compare the new axle's drilling and keyway layout before transferring anything. Once fitted, recheck chain line, brake-disc position and every retainer after the first session.

Frequently asked questions

Is this axle 50mm × 1030mm?

Yes. Both listed chassis fitments are 50mm in diameter and 1030mm long.

What is the difference between the OTK and KR versions?

They are separate fitments for the two chassis families. Precision does not publish the exact drilling and keyway measurements on the product page, so they should not be treated as universal alternatives to one another.

Which stiffness should I choose?

Medium is the sensible baseline in Precision's guide for mixed conditions. Move softer or stiffer to answer a specific handling or grip problem, using your chassis data and controlled back-to-back testing.

Will it fit my chassis?

Only if the selected OTK or KR fitment and the axle layout match your chassis. Ask before ordering if the chassis model, year or existing axle specification is unclear.

Does it come with keys, bearings or carriers?

The listing is for one selected axle. Those additional rear-axle parts are not stated as included.

See the full kart axle range or contact IC Kartstore if you want a second check before ordering.
